I first became acquainted with the Order as a child when I recall the Brothers visiting my grandparents to beg for alms and then to accompany my father to his place of work, and I realised from his example what it meant to be a member of the St John of God family. During these 22 years I have shared and worked for the Order of Saint John of God in different professional capacities, firstly in Neurosurgery and then the Paediatric department, and lastly in Neonatology, where I have worked as a Co-worker for the past 10 years managing this service. I REMEMBER that, from the first moment, I felt something special as a member of the Order; as a committed layman I feel proud at being able to deploy not only my personal and spiritual life project but also my professional life, knowing my vocation of service and raising on high the motto of our founder: “Do good, well done”.

I gratefully remember all the Brothers and Fathers of the community for their unconditional support and for having shared not only the good times with me but also the difficulties, which all form part of our life. Committed at all times to the work we perform for the good of the most vulnerable and their loved ones.
