Immediately after the General Meeting of the Hospitality Europe International Association, the Europe Commission of the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God met in Rome, on 20-21 April, 2015.

The following are members of the Commission:

Brother Rudolf Knopp, General Councillor of the Europe Region with responsibility for the Bavarian, Austrian and Polish Provinces.

Brother Giampietro Luzzato, General Councillor with responsibility for the Italian Provinces

Brother Benigno Ramos Rodríguez, General Councillor with responsibility for the Spanish and Portuguese Provinces

Brother Alain Samuel Jeancler, Provincial of the French Province, Paris

Brother Eugeniusz Kret, Provincial of the Polish Province, Kraków

Brother Miguel Àngel Varona, Provincial of the Castile Province, Madrid

Dr. Carlo Galasso, Director of the European Office, Bruxelles

The main agenda items addressed at the meeting may be summarised as follows:

Briefing on the work of the subcommissions (Vocations Promotion/Pastoral Care and Formation, the Pastoral Care of the Sick) and other information

Preparation of European events (Europe Regional Conference 2016, the meeting for the Order’s vocational schools etc.)

Evaluation of the Schools of Hospitality of the European Provinces (see separate article)

The issue requiring the most attention was the preparations to be made for the Europe Regional Conference scheduled to be held on 14-18 March, 2016. In this connection, the agenda items, the composition of the attendees, the speakers and the moderator, were defined. This part of the meeting was also attended by Brother Gerardo D’Auria, Provincial of the Rome Province, because the Europe Regional Conference 2016 is to be hosted by the Rome Province in Naples.
