I am Matheo Lee of the Korean Province of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God. At present I am the Director of Novices.  Long ago a professor teaching anatomy said, “Lord, the creator of the human beings deserves to be awed.”  What he said is still powerful to me and became a measure for me to discern how I should practice the gospel values by serving those in need as a Hospitaller Brother. I am always grateful and want to give thanks to God for being able to live my vocation faithfully following the way of St. John of God who committed his life to the poor and sick with the motto of “to the soul through the body”. I always strive to remember his mindset and attitude towards clients, their families and co-workers and all the people whom I meet in my daily life: in living with the homeless and those rejected from the society; in meeting with the elderly suffering from dementia and having contact with their families, observing the elderly and consoling the bereaved who have lost their loved ones; studying and guiding the novices who will be the hope of the Order in the future.
