I entered the Order of St. John of God in 2004. I believe that the seed of my vocation was planted 30 years ago when I visited the Daegu City Hospital as a 3rd grade high school student. At that time I was not a Christian but I had Catholic friends. I wanted to be a Catholic and have a religious faith but as I grew up I became more interested in pursuing worldly pleasures. At about 30 years of age I started to serve the elderly and the physically handicapped as a volunteer by delivering food and cleaning their places. I became to be filled with the joys of helping others and realized that worldly pleasures had become meaningless for me. So I went to Chuncheon and met Brother Michael who is now Provincial. He welcomed me with pleasure even though I didn’t make an appointment beforehand. Before long I visited the Mother House of the Order in Gwangju where I felt peaceful and happy. I know now that I was being touched by Hospitality. I decided to become a Brother. After I became a Brother I worked in our Care Home for the Elderly and our Rehabilitation Service for clients with psychological difficulties. I am really happy with my experience of the fraternal accompaniment of the Brothers. May the Lord receive my praise and glory for giving me the grace me to live this consecrated life and I pray that God will continue to guide my life forever.
