365 TESTIMONIES OF HOSPITALITY

My name is MIGUEL CALLE RAMÍREZ O.H.  I studied at La Ceja, Antioquia, in the Cristo Sacerdote Seminary. I was ordained for the diocese of Valledupar (Cesar), on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. I worked for 12 years in parishes, schools and missions, and I also dedicated myself to the Youth Pastoral Ministry and the Pastoral Care of the Sick. Enlightened by the Word, I clearly discerned God calling me to the Hospitaller Order.

One Sunday (March 8) I said my Morning Prayer and the Office of John of God. I read the reading of the day, and meditated on it twice. That same week I wrote to the Provincial in Bogotá and we quickly began to exchange correspondence regarding my vocation. He sent me letters, folders  and vocational materials. I was very excited and I read everything, and spent nine months prudently waiting for my bishop to excardinate me.

When I left my diocese I went the Provincial Curia in Bogotá. The Provincial received me and introduced me to the Brothers in the Community.  I spent a week in the Curia and then I stayed for one month in two houses in the Province: Chía and La Ceja.

I was sent to Pasto to begin the Postulancy and was subsequently sent to the Novitiate, and dedicated myself to Vocations Promotion/Pastoral Care, and the Pastoral Care of the Sick and Co-workers.

I feel happy in Hospitality. I have felt loved by all the Communities in the Province. Thanks be to God and Saint John of God.
