Closure of the General Canonical Visitation
The Brothers of the Good Shepherd Province in North
America gathered in Chicago for the closure of the General Canonical Visitation
by the Prior General, accompanied by Brother Pascal. The General Canonical
Visitation has been conducted over the past weeks by Brother Joseph Smith,
General Councillor. Brother Joseph expressed gratitude to the Brothers and
Co-workers for the faithful expressions of John of God Hospitality lived out in
the various ministries of the Province present in Canada and the United States.
The Brothers of the Province assembled for the Visitation closure also spent
time reflecting on the call to synodality and the challenge to shape
alternative governance of their ministries, given their reality of aging and
diminishment. The Brothers remain filled with passion to ensure the continuation
of the Mission into the future.
