Silver Jubilees
The Church celbrates
Jubilees as a year of grace from the Lord to show His infinite mercy.
Our 4 Brothers, Ignace
ALOULA from Togo, Samuel AKONI from Ghana, Gregorio FAUSTINO and Francesco
JOAQUIM, both from Mozambique, who made their first profession in 1998 at the
interprovincial novitiate of AGOE in Togo, have celebrated their Silver Jubilee
on Saturday 07 October 2023, the day after the end of the canonical visitations
and the Africa Regional Conference.
This great event brought
together more than thirty Brothers and co-workers from all over Africa,
together with the Prior General, Brother Jésus ETAYO, his Secretary General,
Brother André SENE, and his General Councillor, Brother Pascal AHODEGNON, for
the same shared mission of hospitality.
Léon DOGBEVI, the
celebrant and Vicar General representing the bishop who was unable to attend,
surrounded by several diocesan priests and in the presence of the Prior
General, André SENE, Brother Hugues ASSOU, Provincial of the Province of Saint
Richard Pampuri and Brother Jacob Ketchen, Master of Novices, all Brothers of
the Order, celebrated this thanksgiving Mass.
In a festive atmosphere,
the parents of the jubilarians, the people of Afagnan, the staff of the centres
of our African Provinces of Saint Richard Pampuri and Saint Augustine, the
political and administrative authorities, the traditional chiefs and local
councillors, of every rank and degree, took part in this great celebration, a
sign of our communion in the shared hospitaller mission.
The day was blessed by
beautiful weather, bright sunshine and fraternal agape, to the joy of all who
took part. We offer our best wishes to our celebrating Brothers and wish
hospitality to continue to live on in a constantly changing world.
