Closing of the Canonical Visitation Bavaria
The General Canonical Visitation of the Bavarian Province was concluded on
23 May. Brother Joaquim Erra was the Visitor. For several weeks he had been visiting
the communities and the Province's health care and educational centres to get
to know them, and to thank and share this vast mission and presence of the
hospitality of Saint John of God. The official closing ceremony took place in
the monastery of Weltenburg, where the Brothers of the Province were able to
attend, together with the Provincial Government and the directors of the
centres of the Province. The ceremony was presided over by the Prior General,
Jesús Etayo.
It provided a good opportunity to share and dialogue with the people heading
the Province, in an atmosphere of togetherness and celebration at being part of
this living project of hospitality in Germany.
We would like to express our gratitude for the warm welcome we received
during these days, for the good preparation of the Visitation and for the
quality of the services they are offering through the hospitals (adult,
paediatric, geriatric, palliative, hospice...), centres for people with
intellectual disabilities with such a strong commitment to social and labour
inclusion, homes for the elderly, formation centres...
The German Province can count on a large group of committed and
enthusiastic co-workers and managers to continue promoting hospitality. We
thank them for their work and their interest in continuing to deliver a service
of human and spiritual quality, "with great human warmth".
