An experience of hospitality

My name is Ingrid and I am on the clerical staff of a center for the elderly of the Saint John of God Brothers. Every day I deal with our elderly guests, their relatives and the workers of our center.

For me, hospitality means treating the other the way I would like to be treated.

So I always make an effort to be kind and helpful and to pay attention to all the big and small requests that others make.

The elderly guests of our center are especially grateful when I help them or even just give them a smile in the morning, listen to them or comfort them. Every now and then they reward me with a cake, which makes me very happy and gratifies me. I have grown very fond of some of our elderly guests.

I am also involved in promotion activities to foster the wellbeing of our workers and guests.

This is how I live out hospitality in my professional life.
