Bust of St John of God
On 11 October 2018, the President of the Excelentísimo Colegio de Enfermería de Sevilla (Spain), José María RUEDA SEGURA, and the members of the Board of Directors, travelled to the General Curia in Rome to donate a bust of St John of God by the Cordoba sculptor, Alfonso CASTELLANO TAMARIT (1983), to the Prior General, Brother Jesús ETAYO ARRONDO.
This sculptor of religious images applies gilding and polychrome techniques, as an outstanding artist in the field of religious sculpture, famed for his polychrome works and finishes in the best baroque tradition, with oil ‘velatura’ creating the impression of a soft and delicate model which elevates the category and dignity of his creation.
“THE MOST EXCELLENT COLLEGE OF NURSING OF SEVILLE

The Prior General expressed his thanks for this gesture, which further strengthens the bonds of friendship, support and cooperation that exist between the Hospitaller Order and the Seville College of Nursing and its members, which also enhances the visibility of St John of God and the esteem and gratitude paid of those who celebrate him as the Patron Saint of Nurses.
