On 3rd
February in the Afternoon at 02.30 p.m. St. John’s College of Nursing
celebrated the Lamp lighting ceremony of the 22nd Batch B. Sc
Nursing students. There are 70 students this year as our college got permission
to increase the number of seats from 60 to 70. Prior General Most Rev. Bro.
Pascal Ahodegnon has delivered the keynote address. Rev. Dr. Sr. Teslin Joseph,
Provincial Superior of the Sacred Heart Congregation, Nava Jyothi Province,
Idukki has inaugurated the function. Bro. George Kizhakkenath, Provincial of
the Indian province was the president of the function. All the dignitaries were
welcomed by a music band of the college and lead them all to the auditorium
including the newly joined nursing students and their parents and relatives.

Nursing Principal, Professor Madam Ann Mary welcomed the gathering and Bro.
Baiju Valuparampil the director of the Nursing college, Mr. Jacob Korah, the
Manager and Financial Coordinator, Medical Director Dr. Bharathi Mohan and Bro.
Vincent Kochamkunnel felicitated the newly admitted students. Vice principal
Professor Shiny Joseph thanked the dignitaries and the whole gathering for

Inauguration of the new St. John of God Autism Centre at Velloor.
On 4th
February, St. John of God Centre at Velloor marked another milestone in the
history of the Centre by opening a new Autism Block. It was celebrated with
great enthusiasm and inclusiveness. There were representatives from all spheres
of life, religious leaders, representatives from other communities and centers
of the Order, all gathered to mark the beginning of a new era in autism care
and support. Among the dignitaries there were Brothers and Co-workers from
Korea, Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Italy and Vatican pharmacy. Mar Thomas Tharayil, the Archbishop of
Changanacherry, blessed the building and Our Prior General Most Rev. Bro.
Pascal Ahodegnon inaugurated the building. Madam de Polignac,
President of Association pour l'Aide aux Jeunes Infirmes et aux Personnes
Handicapées (AAJI), unveiled the inaugural plaque, symbolizing the center’s
official opening. This momentous act received applause and appreciation from the
attendees. Madam de Polignac has contributed a substantial amount to the
completion of the building other than the financial support from the general
curia through the annual campaign of our Prior General.
The function
started at 04 p.m., with the unveiling of the plaque, the inauguration of the
building by cutting the ribbon by our Prior General Most Rev. Bro. Pascal
Ahodegnon and in his address, he emphasized the commitment of the Hospitaller
Order to providing quality care and support to children with autism and their
families. The blessing of the building was held by the Archbishop Mar Thomas
Tharayil. Then during the public function Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil
delivered his benedictory address, invoking divine guidance and support for the
success of the centre. His words inspired the audience, emphasizing the moral
and social responsibility of society in supporting individuals with autism. The
local MLA (member of Legislative Assembly) Mr. Chandy Oommen presided over the
function. Many dignitaries felicitated the Centre for taking such initiatives.
Provincial Bro. George Kizhakkenath welcomed all the dignitaries and the public
and Bro. Francis Mannaparampil thanked everyone for their participation. The
event concluded with a gathering where guests were served tea and snacks,
providing an opportunity for informal discussions and networking. The
inauguration of the St. John of God Autism centre, Velloor, marks a significant
step forward in autism care and stands as a testament to the collective efforts
of the community in fostering an inclusive society. The purpose of the new
autism block is the early detection and intervention for the autism children.
Blessing and
Inauguration of the new St. John of God Care Home, Vellervally, Kannur.
On 6th
February 2025 the Indian province opened a new service for the elderly called
St. John of God care Home at Vellervally, in the district of Kannur. The centre
can accommodate 20 elderly people. This is a paying old age home. All the
visiting guests from abroad took part in the blessing and inauguration. The
inauguration and blessing of the building and the blessing of the chapel began
at 02.30 p.m. It started with official inauguration of the St. John of God care
home by cutting the ribbon by Rev. Bro. Eberhard Michl, the provincial councilor
of the Bavarian province and the Superior of the Munich Community. The
community building was inaugurated jointly by cutting the ribbon by our Prior
General Most Rev. Bro. Pascal Ahodegnon and Bro. Eberhard Michl. Emeritus
Bishop Mar George Njaralakkattu, Bishop of Thalassery blessed the building and
the chapel. After the blessing of the chapel the Holy mass is celebrated by the
Emeritus Bishop Mar George Njaralakkattu, con celebrated by the Priests of the
Order Bro. Saji Mullankuzhy, the General councilor for Europe and Bro. Francis
Mannaparampil, Director of St. John of God centre, Velloor. After the Mass
unveiling of the plaque was held by Prior General Most Rev. Bro. Pascal
Ahodegnon and Rev. Bro. Eberhard Michl, representative of the Bavarian Province
jointly, which marks the official opening of the Care Home.
After the mass
there was a public Meeting. During the meeting Emeritus Bishop presided over
the meeting and our Prior General Most Rev. Bro. Pascal inaugurated the
function. Other dignitaries felicitated the Management of the Care Homer. Bro.
George Kizhakkenath, the Provincial of St. Thomas Province welcomed all guests
from abroad and within the province. Bro. Antony Palamattom, the Director of
the new Centre thanked everyone who were present. The workers who constructed
the building were also honored during the meeting. A good number of Brothers
and Co-Workers came from other communities and institutions, and they took part
all events. After the meeting everyone was served a delicious meal to mark the
celebration. The construction of the building was financed by the Bavarian
Province. Madam de Polignac also donated an amount to complete the building.
