On Wednesday, 26
October, the annual meeting of the Contact Persons of the Order's and the
Sisters Hospitallers’ European Provinces workING with the Hospitality Europe
office in Brussels, was held at the General Curia.
It took place in an
atmosphere of fruitful cooperation given the well-established synergies between
the participants.
As always, the meeting
was animated and coordinated by Dr Galasso, Director of the Brussels office,
who illustrated the initiatives and European projects promoted over the past
year with the involvement of more than 30 Hospitaller Centres and hundreds of
Religious and Co-workers. The participants discussed current issues on the
European health agenda, in particular the shortage of healthcare personnel, the
impact of the pandemic on mental health, the care and integration of Ukrainian
refugees and the digitalisation of care services.
The meeting was also
graced with the testimony of Karin Brettner and Martina Pusterhofer –
co-workers at the socio-health centre of the Austrian Province in Kainbach bei
Graz – who presented the European MOVE project, which involves various
facilities of the Order and the Sisters Hospitallers in rehabilitation
programmes for patients focusing on motor activity (www.move-project.net ).
