On Saturday 24
September 2022, Fernando Alvarez Margolles, of the Province of Spain, professed
his first vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and hospitality in the
Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God.
Fernando is the
first novice to profess his vows in the newly constituted Province of Spain,
and also in the European interprovincial Novitiate dedicated to Saint Richard
Pampuri, which began in 2019.
The Eucharist
was celebrated in the church of St. Ursula of the European Interprovincial
Novitiate in Brescia, Italy. In
the presence of Br Massimo Villa, Provincial Superior of the Lombardo Veneta
Province, Fernando made his temporary vows in the hands of Br. Amador
Fernandez, Provincial Superior of the Province of Spain.
Present
were also his parents, some confreres who came from Spain and nearby
communities as well as several collaborators, volunteers and friends from
Brescia.
Fernando started
his postulancy in Spain on 24th March 2019 and his novitiate on 29th September
2020. After this time of intense
formation he returns to his Province to continue his formation and mission with
the scholasticate stage within the Order.
We pray that the
Lord will continue to accompany and guide him on the path of Hospitality at the
service of the poorest and most needy.
