The S. Joćo de Deus Institute (in the Portoguese Province) is planning to build a new Rehabilitation and Palliative Care unit in the Municipality of Oeiras, which will be incorporated into the National Health Service Network, with the following units:
- Convalescence;
- Physical Rehabilitation and Recovery;
- Medium/long-stay Inpatient Care and Rehabilitation;
- Dementia Care;
- Palliative Care;
- Outpatient Physical Rehabilitation;
- Support services.
It will provide a total of 126 beds, in a 5-storey building on a covered area of over 9,000m2. The Foundation Stone-Laying ceremony took place on November 11, 2019, attended by the President of the Oeiras City Council, Dr. Isaltino Morais, the Councillor for Social Development and Health, Dr. Teresa Bacelar, representatives of the Lisbon and Tejo Valley Regional Health Authority, representatives of the Hospitaller Order and the S. Joćo de Deus (ISJD) Institute, as well as superiors and directors of other welfare facilities.
