Hospitality Europe

General meeting

On Monday 30 October, the Hospitality Europe Association  -  the Order’s Representative Office to the European Union in Brussels – held its second general meeting of 2017, with fewer than usual members in attendance.

Dr Galasso, the General Secretary of Hospitality Europe updated the members on the main European Union issues being monitored by the Office, and in particular both the adoption of the “European Pillar of Human Rights” and the operation of the “European Solidarity Corps”. A number of new EU-financed projects for 2017 were presented, particularly in the field of psychiatry and the inclusion of people with disabilities through the practice of sport.

The members discussed and adopted the proposed agenda items for the meeting with the Provincial reference persons and the Office’s operations budget in 2018.

Particular attention focused on the Brexit negotiations, which are causing the many European Religious and Co-workers living in the United Kingdom serious concern about their uncertain future.

The meeting then planned the first meeting of 2018 at the Hospitality Europe Office in Brussels on 25-27 April.
